Tshedza pictures
We were briefed in to create a corporate identity for Tshedza Pictures, a film company founded by Gwydion Beynon and Phatu Makwarela. The pair have very different juxtaposing appearances, and are always seen together, like they are a single entity. For this reason, their profiles were used to create a fun, yet professional brand identity.
The word ‘Tshedza’ means light or illumination in TshiVenda. Using the light to guide us on our designer journey, we came up with the idea to shed light on ‘Gwyd’ and ‘Phathu’, conceptually communicating that they have started something new.
The branding is clever, playful and memorable and the execution of light vs dark carries these sentiments through.
